Review the current app and policy roles

State Farm now places Drive Safe & Save under Safe & Save in the State Farm app. Review who is a named insured and who is an additional driver. Its FAQ directs questions about display restrictions or discontinuing participation to the agent. Use each driver's own account; do not inspect another person's trip history. Use the documented trip-correction process for actual errors

Progressive's terms describe a limited window to correct whether a recorded trip was driving, riding as a passenger or another transport mode. Review an actual classification error using the app's correction route. The terms say excessive recategorization can lead to removal. They also describe consequences for insufficient data or patterns of disabling the app. Progressive: Snapshot mobile data, visibility and trip categorization

Check the participation consequences before stopping collection

Progressive documents opting out through the account or 1-877-329-7283, with some situations requiring a call. Its FAQ says the participation discount is lost, and some states or situations can involve a renewal surcharge after 45 days or use of data already supplied. Check the actual state and enrollment terms before deciding. Deleting the app alone does not establish a completed privacy request. Progressive: Snapshot collection, opt-out and pricing limits

Ask separately about already collected data and marketing

Progressive's linked privacy statement describes a phone display and insurer-held data separately. Its marketing-limitation route is 844-582-5040 and applies to everyone listed on the policy. A marketing choice is not the same as leaving Snapshot or erasing all driving records. Review the current program notice before submitting a request. Progressive: Snapshot app data, retention and third parties

Review general sharing choices without assuming all uses stop

State Farm's notice offers a way to limit certain sharing within its family of companies through the agent or 1-800-865-6035. It preserves exceptions for transactions, experiences and other listed uses, and says a choice can affect joint holders. Review that scope separately from driving-program participation and account deletion. State Farm: customer information uses, retention and sharing choices
