Review voice-assistant history and improvement settings
Inspect the exact audio, transcript, activity and improvement controls before changing them. Check each product and device rather than assuming one switch covers every retained copy.

Read the setting name on the current Apple device
Apple's 09-16-2026 support article distinguishes Improve Siri and Apple Intelligence, available with Siri AI, from Improve Siri and Dictation. It says these optional choices let Apple store and review samples. Use the disclosure matching the label on the device. Apple: current improvement-setting labels
- On iPhone or iPad, inspect Settings, Privacy and Security, then Analytics and Improvements. Read the displayed Siri improvement choice before deciding whether to change it. On Mac, the documented route is System Settings, Privacy and Security, Analytics and Improvements. Apple: current improvement-setting labels
- Read the linked privacy notice for the existing choice. The Siri and Dictation improvement notice and the Siri and Apple Intelligence notice describe different feature scopes. An improvement-setting review does not require turning Siri on or consenting to a new program. Apple: optional Siri and Dictation improvement · Apple: separate Siri and Apple Intelligence option
Separate Apple processing indicators and local history
The current Siri and Dictation notice describes on-device indicators in Siri and Keyboard settings, and separately describes local transcript history. A local-history action should not be presented as guaranteed deletion of every server-retained or previously reviewed sample. Apple: Siri and Dictation default processing
- Inspect the current Siri or Keyboard privacy explanation for whether the feature is processed locally. Read the matching history and improvement guidance before choosing deletion. Use the current history instructions for the feature and device version. Apple: Siri and Dictation default processing
Inspect personal-account Gemini activity on a computer
Google's computer instructions cover personal accounts. Work or school administrators can control the retention choices. Keep that account distinction in view before applying a personal-account route to an organization. Google: Gemini activity controls
- In Gemini on a computer, open Settings and help, then Activity. Inspect Keep Activity and the displayed auto-delete choice. Google documents 3, 18 or 36 months, or no automatic deletion; review the existing choice before changing it. Google: Gemini activity controls
- Inspect the separate choice for improving Google services with audio and Gemini Live video or screenshares. It is off by default and requires Keep Activity to be on before it can be enabled. Do not enable it merely to inspect the surrounding explanation. Google: Gemini activity controls
Read the Gemini retention and service boundaries
Google says the audio-improvement choice is separate from Gemini for Home settings. Turning off Keep Activity does not delete other Google services' data. Review the relevant service's own history, feedback and retention explanation rather than expecting one Gemini choice to erase everything. Google: Gemini Apps privacy and retention
Inspect Alexa history and retention separately
Amazon's FAQ locates review at More, Alexa Privacy, then Review Alexa History. Its improvement and data controls also have a Manage Your Alexa Data section. Amazon: Alexa data and privacy FAQ
- In the Alexa app, inspect those existing sections and read the displayed recording and transcript choices. Amazon warns that choosing not to save recordings removes voice IDs. Review that consequence before changing retention. Amazon: Alexa data and privacy FAQ
Treat deletion as a deliberate choice
Google distinguishes reviewing activity, turning off future activity storage and deleting existing history. Its help also notes that deleting a shared Gemini chat does not remove the related public link. Inspect the actual object and consequence before selecting a deletion control.
