Start with the account and data already available

For a customer who already has dashboard access, the My Meter FAQ documents My Account > Account History > View My Meter. It also describes a Data download control after selecting the date range and interval. Review the needed range before creating a copy. LG&E and KU: interval readings and dashboard history

The same FAQ describes a Property Profile containing details such as property size, construction age and appliance types, used for comparisons within the dashboard. Review those fields before supplying extra household information. A property description is separate from an interval reading. LG&E and KU: interval readings and dashboard history

Review access before connecting an outside service

The Green Button page distinguishes downloading a file for chosen sharing from direct third-party access through Connect My Data. It also lists separate registration steps for connected access. Read the provider's current requirements and the intended recipient's privacy policy before enabling a new connection. There is no need to authorize an outside provider merely to review existing utility data. LG&E and KU: downloadable and connected energy data

Review marketing and personal-data requests separately

The privacy notice provides choices for marketing email, SMS and disclosures for direct marketing, while administrative or transactional communications can remain. It also allows requests for a summary of retained personal information or a correction through the listed contact routes. Deletion remains subject to retention and backup procedures. Those are separate from changing a meter. LG&E and KU: customer privacy and request choices

Compare the actual meter opt-out terms

The expanded FAQ lists non-AMI meter fees per meter: LG&E electric, $80 once plus $20 monthly; LG&E gas, $85 once plus $9 monthly; KU, $74 once plus $24 monthly. These are the provider's displayed Kentucky fees checked 10-24-2026. Confirm the applicable current terms before requesting a change. LG&E and KU: advanced-meter access, opt-out and service distinctions

The utility says opting out means monthly manual reads and loss of advanced-meter features, and directs requests to customer service. This differs from marketing unsubscribe. LG&E and KU: advanced-meter access, opt-out and service distinctions

The My Meter overview separately offers opt-in for someone who previously declined an advanced meter. Check which service change is intended before using that route. It is not a way to erase historical account information. LG&E and KU: advanced-meter dashboard availability

Keep service operations separate from privacy choices

The electric-service page describes remote connection and disconnection for advanced electric meters. A request to start, stop or move service changes service at the property. Use the relevant privacy or data-sharing route when the goal is to review information access. LG&E and KU: electric dashboard and remote service features

Questions and answers

Does the dashboard's 13-month interval window prove all utility data is erased then?

No. That FAQ describes My Meter data availability, not every utility record or legal retention requirement. LG&E and KU: interval readings and dashboard history

Does a marketing opt-out automatically replace the meter?

The privacy notice describes marketing and data choices, not a meter replacement request. LG&E and KU: customer privacy and request choices

Is an advanced-meter opt-in the same as viewing a current dashboard?

The overview distinguishes existing dashboard access from a new meter opt-in request. LG&E and KU: advanced-meter dashboard availability
