Identify the product and the privacy notice first

Roborock's Trust Center directs users to select the device in the app, then Settings > Product Information for collection details. Check the matching manual and current notice. Review optional obstacle photos, pet photos, voice features and video access individually; the page's model caveat prevents treating its descriptions as one universal configuration. Roborock: model-dependent privacy features

On a Saros 10, review the video-dependent pet functions if available. Its product disclosure says those functions require manually enabling video. Read the actual app notice before activating a feature just to inspect it. No new image or video session is needed to read the manufacturer's public documentation. Review Imprint mapping and its cleaning consequences

For supported Imprint Smart Maps configurations, the official Canadian article documents Accounts > Privacy > Mapping Features > the robot. Before disabling it, read the listed losses: map-based schedules, favorites, time estimates, directed room and zone cleaning, and keep-out zones. It says turning mapping back on requires a new map. Confirm the exact model and app before following this regional help path. iRobot: Imprint Smart Maps privacy

Check shared users and each storage location

Roborock's June 2026 app policy lists Profile > Device Sharing for canceling a shared-device relationship. It separately distinguishes clearing app cache, deleting an account and removing data stored on the physical device. Account deletion does not delete local device information; the matching device manual supplies that procedure. Backup and third-party removal can also take longer, subject to the stated qualifications. Roborock: current app policy and shared devices

Before handing a robot to another person

If an owned iRobot is being transferred, read its reset guide before acting. The United Kingdom guide documents Classic app Product Settings > About the robot > Remove Device from Account; the new Roomba Home app uses Robot Settings > About Roomba > Factory Reset and Remove Robot. Read the confirmation and model-specific map options. The guide says manual button resets preserve cloud/app associations, so they are not interchangeable with app removal. iRobot: app reset and manual reset differences

For an iRobot information request or deletion question, use the current policy's official account or Customer Care route. Feature opt-outs and account deletion address different scopes. Check retention and service consequences before confirming a request; this guide does not require closing an account or resetting a device to review its controls. iRobot: device data and retention
