What Discord activity and account data can reveal
Game activity, connected accounts, messages and sponsored-content data have different audiences and controls. Understand Discord visibility, provider collection and deletion limits.

Visible activity is only one part of the record
Discord's policy describes content, server participation, interactions, device and IP information, and usage events. It can receive activity from linked services and information from advertisers or other data providers. A hidden status should not be read as a stop to every category of collection. Discord: collected data and third-party services
Discord's activity help describes game and connected-service activity on profiles, cards and status messages, plus recent profile history within 30 days. Global, connection, game and server controls have different scopes. It warns that server-level settings do not currently control the experimental Members List activity cards. Connections can link identities and channel access
The Connections help says linked-account details can appear on a profile, and some servers use those details for Linked Roles. Removing a connection can remove access to a role-gated channel. Sharing a connected identity and sharing game activity are related choices, but should be reviewed for their own effects. Discord: connected accounts and linked-role consequences
Personalization and product improvement are distinct uses
Discord's personalization help lists games, interactions, use of the service, linked accounts and joined servers as inputs for recommendations. Disabling the setting stops account-specific personalization described by that control without blocking access to conversations or voice channels. Discord: recommendations and personalization
The product-improvement help distinguishes future improvement use from information already collected. It says earlier data may continue to be used after the setting is disabled, and usage signals still reach Discord but are not used for that stated purpose. This is not a promise that every service event stops being sent. Discord: product-improvement setting and retained data
Sponsored content can use off-service information
Discord's sponsored-content help describes personalization using Discord activity or information received from advertisers and other third parties, including activity outside Discord. It gives separate controls for those inputs. Opting out of personalization can still leave nonpersonalized sponsored content, such as a Quest shown to everyone in a particular server. Discord: sponsored-content personalization controls
Stored records and account deletion have separate limits
Discord's data-package help describes account settings, IP addresses, sessions, connections, relationships, activity and sent messages among export categories. The package can also include advertising-related records. A personal export is a view into available account data, not proof that a hidden profile has no provider-held records. Discord: export contents and request timing
Discord's retention help says deleting an account leaves shared content displayed without its former account association. Specific content must be handled separately before closure. It also gives longer retention for legal and safety purposes, and says deleting content can take time to clear cached uploads. Account closure is not an instant recall of every message. Discord: content deletion and account-retention limits
The privacy policy says third-party apps and bots have their own policies. Discord does not control those services or every category they collect. Review an app's developer and permissions before interacting, including in a server run by someone else. Discord: collected data and third-party services
