Identify an existing Intune enrollment
- If the device is already enrolled, Microsoft says its Company Portal app or website shows the ownership type under Device Details. Check that classification first. Microsoft: Intune enrollment visibility
- Compare that ownership type and configuration with Microsoft's visibility guide. Ask IT to explain any app-inventory or other collection that applies to your specific setup. Microsoft: Intune enrollment visibility
Inspect Apple supervision information
- On iPhone or iPad, look near the top of Settings for the supervision message. On Mac, Apple's current deployment guide uses System Settings, then General, then Device Management. Apple: supervision indicators
- Apple's supervised-device help directs iPhone/iPad users to Settings, General, VPN & Device Management. Select an installed profile to read its changes, then ask the administrator about enforced settings you do not understand. Apple: supervised-device settings
Inspect desktop Chrome management
- Open Chrome's More menu and look for Managed by your organization. Google also documents entering chrome://management in the address bar to inspect management and managed extensions. Google: managed Chrome indicators
- Enter chrome://policy to review applied policies. If the management seems unexpected, contact the account or device administrator about its source. Google: managed Chrome indicators
Ask for the policy behind the settings
Microsoft recommends explaining what is collected and why. Ask the organization which products collect data, who can view it, how long it is kept and how personal and corporate devices differ. Clarify required controls with the administrator before making changes. Microsoft: data-access transparency
Read administrator location features within their scope
Apple's supervised-device help describes administrator location requests through Managed Lost Mode, with a locked device and visible message. This is the described management feature, not a conclusion about every app's location permissions. Review separate app permissions using their own controls. Apple: supervised-device settings
