Review Face ID uses on the actual device

Open Settings > Face ID & Passcode. Apple distinguishes turning off iPhone Unlock or iPad Unlock from Reset Face ID, which deletes enrolled Face ID data. Choose the control that matches the intended change. Apple: Face ID data, app authentication and attention features

Check attention features separately

Apple places Attention Aware Features in the same settings area. Review that control separately from the Face ID enrollment. Apple: Face ID data, app authentication and attention features

Keep the passcode and accessibility context in view

Face ID requires a device passcode. Apple also documents attention-related accessibility choices under Settings > Accessibility > Face ID & Attention, including an automatic change when VoiceOver is enabled during initial setup. Review the actual accessibility needs before changing these choices. Apple: Face ID technology, safeguards and accessibility

Find the Windows sign-in method

In Windows Settings, open Accounts > Sign-in options and review Facial recognition, Fingerprint recognition or PIN under Windows Hello. Available biometric options depend on compatible camera or fingerprint hardware. Microsoft: configure Windows Hello and compatible hardware

Use the documented removal route for the supported device

For Surface, Microsoft documents Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options > Fingerprint recognition (Windows Hello) > Remove. Its help also describes using a PIN or password if recognition fails. Check the instructions for the actual device before removing an enrollment. Microsoft: Surface Windows Hello troubleshooting and fingerprint removal

Separate biometric enrollment from linked account identity

Windows Hello for Business associates a public key with an account at its identity provider. A local biometric control should not be treated as an account-deletion or account-unlinking procedure. Microsoft: Windows Hello biometric storage and account authentication
