Roku: review viewing recognition

  1. On a supported Roku TV, press Home on the Roku remote. Open Settings > Privacy > Smart TV Experience, then deselect Automatic Content Recognition (ACR). The U.S. support article describes pressing OK to change the checkbox. Roku: ACR controls
  2. In the same Smart TV Experience area, review Content Viewing Disclosure separately. Roku's policy says to deselect it to withdraw consent to that disclosure. Roku: privacy policy

Roku: review personalized ads separately

  1. In the Privacy section of Settings, review Personalized Ads for the signed-in Roku account. Turn it off if that is your preference. Roku says contextual ads can remain, and third-party apps may have separate controls. Roku: privacy policy

Samsung: review the viewing-service notice

  1. Open the TV's Settings and review Viewing Information Services and its privacy notice. Samsung describes ACR as optional and says consent can be changed there. Use the model's current instructions when the menu differs. Samsung: ACR disclosure

Stopping future collection is different from deleting old data

Roku's ACR support page says it retains information collected while ACR was enabled after the setting is disabled. Do not interpret the checkbox as a deletion confirmation. Roku: ACR controls

For access or deletion, use the request link in Roku's policy. The policy describes applicable-law limits on honoring requests. A request and a confirmed deletion outcome are separate things. Roku: privacy policy
