Stanford Police Department

License plate reader records for Stanford. Each fact keeps its source and checked date.

Written rules describe policy, not proof that every search follows it. Agency-reported camera totals have a different scope from community-mapped county points.

Program status reported by the source

The June 12, 2025 council minutes record the police chief reporting that Flock cameras were operating, with four permanent placements and one mobile unit. This historical account does not establish a current installed inventory.

What the public record establishes

The same account describes a county proposal for an additional camera covering westbound traffic through Crab Orchard. The proposal is not an installed city camera. Placements, mobile equipment and the earlier six-camera procurement proposal are kept separate; no difference is treated as missing equipment.

Procurement record

The October 10, 2024 minutes describe a six-camera proposal and a possible four-year agreement. Council approved entering a Flock contract conditional on acceptable installation pricing stated as $600 and the city not erecting poles. The minutes also state $3,000 per camera per year, proposed county reimbursement of $6,000 per year and an initial annual amount exceeding $40,000. Those amounts are preserved as reported, without reconciling them or treating them as an executed price, unit installation charge or payment.
